MacArthur grant winner Mark Bradford is a mixed media artist best known for his massive scale, multi-layered collage paintings comprised of found everyday materials such as rope, pieces of billboard, and hairdressor's permanent endpapers, the result of which are both abstract and evocative of America's racialized histories.
